Thong Nai Pan is very different to Haad Rin. It does have its late night spots but it is not a beach for those looking for psy-trance and techno parties every night. Thong Nai Pan Noi is a place for those who like to go out in the evening and enjoy a few drinks with friends. The party scene has virtually vanished from Thong Nai Pan Noi. The Hideaway Bar has been torn down and the Jungle Bar is also destined to close soon. DJ Ton has moved on from the Jungle Bar. They still have a Monday night party at Jungle Bar but it is usually poorly attended. The Easy Corner Bar has now been taken over and turned back to a Mexican Restaurant called La Hacienda. Thus, the Wednesday parties have finished. The focus of night life has now moved to Thong Nai Pan Yai. Along the beach is Yai Bar. It's not a club but often has a lively crowd drinking late into the night. The best nightspot in Thong Nai Pan is now the Funky Buddha. DJ Lai plays a good selection of tech-house tracks. It is a small club with nice private seating areas. If you are in Thong Nai Pan ask around for when the next Funky Buddha night is. At the moment they are held on random days. The other night spot where in Thong Nai Pan Yai where you can hear DJ music is Game Bar. There's a dance floor and glitter ball, and most nights the music gets turned up if people are in the mood for dancing. During the day the newly opened Tipi Cantina on the beach next to Dolphin Bungalows often has a bit of a party feel to it. They also have a beach volleyball net set up for those who like to play sport and listen to dance music. For those in need of big crowds and big events there is the Half Moon Party twice a month just 15 minutes away by taxi. Nearby is the Jungle Experience and of course once a month 20,000 plus people descend on Haad Rin Nok beach for the Full Moon Party. |
