Baan Panburi
| Baan Panburi |
The popular Baan Panburi Village has re-opened on Thong Nai Pan Yai. They have secured some beach front land at the southern end of the beach. Baan Panburi have very much stuck to their original formula of reasonably priced fan and air-con bungalows in the location in Thong Nai Pan Yai . At present there are three choices for accommodation at Baan Panburi. The Garden Huts are made of wood and bamboo. They have a fan, a vernada and a cold water shower. They are excellent value at only 400 Thai Baht in the low season and 600 Thai Baht in the high season. The Seaview Hut has a double bed, air-con and a hot water shower. The Thai House is built in traditional Thai style and has twin beds, hot water, air conditioning and a private balcony. All room prices are inclusive of tax but don't include breakfast.
Baan Panburi Village also includes a beach front restaurant called the 'Beach Club', a massage place and a few computers with free internet access. The restaurant has a popular happy hour between 5pm and 6.30pm. All cocktails are 110 THB, wine is 100 THB and large beers are 80 THB. The Baan Panburi restaurant have a BBQ most nights featuring fresh fish and steaks.
Anyone who has eaten at Baan Panburi will appreciate it is not bad food at not bad prices (for the beach). Nobody can take seriously the assertion that Joe Cummings from the Lonely Planet rates the 'Beach Club' as having the 'best food in Koh Phangan'.
At peak season the minimum stay is 3 nights. If you book for Christmas or New Year the compulsory meal (groan) costs 1,000 THB for adults and 700 THB for children.
Child Policy
Children between 2 and 11 years old can share a bungalow with parents for free (with no extra bedding) but are charged for a compulsory breakfast that costs 150 Thai Baht a day. |
